Celebrating Earth Day – Sustainable And Eco-Friendly Future

As Earth Day approaches, it’s a time for us at Caterglobe to pause and reflect on how we are treating our planet. We know we have a responsibility to take care of it, not just on Earth Day, but every single day. Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us; it’s a way of life. We are always looking for new ways to shrink our environmental footprint. And today we would like to share some of the activities we do in our business to contribute to the wellness of Mother Nature!

Driving Greener

Our company has invested in a smart routing system for our engineers and delivery vans that help us to plan the route and services more efficiently in advance. It means less time on the road, less fuel burned, and fewer emissions. All office vehicles including employees vehicles are ultra-low emissions which reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx). We also encourage our team to carpool or bike to work—it’s good for the planet and great for bonding!

Working smarter, not harder!

Efficiency and meticulous planning are at the heart of our operations. We pride ourselves on resolving issues on the first visit, with the majority of our tasks being completed without the need for a return trip. This approach significantly cuts down on travel and fuel consumption for our vans. To streamline the process, our engineers equip the vans with anticipated spare parts for each job in advance, eliminating the need for extra trips. Additionally, we’re proud to highlight that our first-time fix rate stands at 75%.

In our commitment to sustainability, we adopt bulk purchasing practices and centralize storage in our warehouse. This strategy not only reduces the frequency of orders and urgent requests but also contributes to lower fuel usage and decreased carbon emissions from delivery vehicles.

Eco-friendly practices

We are F Gas and REFCOM certified. Our work ethos is rooted in environmentally friendly practices, which include responsible handling and recycling of parts and waste from equipment. For instance, the gases removed from refrigeration units are stored in containers and delivered to specialized organizations for recycling.

Expert opinion

We are experts, and we consider ourselves responsible for educating our customers with the best knowledge. We always suggest the best-in-class energy-efficient equipment to our customers that are environmentally friendly and have lower carbon emissions. Our customers save money and the environment, who would have thought?

Greening Up the Office

      • Sustainable Hydration – Hydration is key in the workplace, so we’ve collaborated with a B Corp Certified company to equip each employee with a reusable water bottle. This initiative not only reduces plastic waste but also supports our health.
      • Eco-Friendly Lighting – Our office is illuminated with LED lights, which are more energy-efficient than traditional bulbs, helping us reduce our carbon footprint.
      • Green Uniforms – We’ve chosen eco-friendly fabrics for our office attire that require less water to manufacture and can be recycled with ease, ensuring that all discarded uniforms are responsibly repurposed.
      • Stay green – Caring for the environment starts with a single plant and that is why we have included various plants of different sizes in our office space. We create awareness among all employees on how to take care of different plants.
      • Printing, but making it eco – We are trying to go paperless as much as possible. Not only does it save trees, but it also saves us money. When we do have to print stuff, we make sure to use energy-efficient printers and recycle our ink cartridges. Oh, and double-sided printing is our jam!
      • Making recycling easy! – We have installed a cardboard compactor at our office, which compresses papers and cartons into a smaller size. These compacted materials are then collected by our recycling partner company for processing. Additionally, our heavy equipment generates a significant number of wooden pallets. We have recently partnered with a recycling company that will collect these pallets, repurpose them, and make them reusable once again.

Being Smart Shoppers

We’re picky about where we get our stuff from. All our equipment and materials come from eco-friendly sources, and we make sure the chemicals we use are safe for the environment. It’s all about making responsible choices.

Fix It, Don’t Ditch It

When something breaks, we don’t just toss it out. Leveraging the expertise of our engineering team and their superior technical abilities, we are dedicated to repairing equipment instead of simply replacing it. Our approach is to always seek methods to repair malfunctioning components or repurpose existing parts in our repairs. The recommendation to acquire new equipment is made only as a final alternative after all other avenues have been fully exhausted.

We help with all that we have

At Caterglobe, we embrace a transformative journey. Broken equipment arrives, carrying stories of wear and tear. We meticulously mend each piece, breathing life back into its circuits and gears. Our skilled technicians work tirelessly, turning malfunction into opportunity. But our mission extends beyond repair. Once revitalized, these devices find new purpose. We channel their resilience toward charitable causes. We give this equipment to local charity kitchens, school kitchens, and others. With every fix, we stitch hope into the fabric of our community.

A Promise for the Future

At Caterglobe, we’re passionate about nurturing our planet with each step we take. As we grow, we aim to become a leading light in the world of eco-friendly businesses. We’re always on the lookout for new ways to boost our sustainability game because we know how much Mother Earth needs us. Together, we’re on a mission to make a real difference – a greener, cleaner world is within our reach!
